Leão de Ouro de carreira para os estúdios de animação Pixar

O presidente do festival, Paolo Baratta, anunciou hoje que o Leão de Ouro de carreira deste ano vai distinguir o produtor norte-americano John Lasseter, pioneiro do actual cinema de animação, e os realizadores dos estúdios Disney-Pixar, os quais vão todos receber em Setembro o Leão de Ouro de carreira no Festival de Cinema de Veneza, em Itália.
No entender de Marco Muller, director do festival de cinema, John Lasseter é um dos responsáveis pelos elevados patamares de qualidade atingidos pelo cinema de animação contemporâneo.

13 nominations to Benjamin Button, really??

Entre as nomeações mais esperadas, confirma-se a nomeação póstuma para Heath Ledger pelo papel de Joker em "O Cavaleiro das Trevas", e a curiosidade de tanto Brad Pitt quanto Angelina Jolie, tidos como o casal mais poderoso de Hollywood, estarem nomeados nas principais categorias de actuação: Melhor Actor por "O Estranho Caso de Benjamin Button" e Melhor Actriz por "A Troca". Também Meryl Streep foi novamente nomeada para Melhor Actriz pelo seu papel de freira em "Dúvida", sendo esta a sua 15ª nomeação para os Óscares.
Para o Óscar de Melhor Actor, além de Pitt estão nomeados Sean Penn ("Milk"), Mickey Rourke ("The Wrestler") - e prevê-se que este seja o duelo da noite, com Penn e Rourke a puxar pelo favoritismo -, Richard Jenkins ("The Visitor") e Frank Langella ("Frost/Nixon"). As candidatas a Melhor Actriz, além de Jolie e Streep, são Anne Hathaway por "O Casamento de Rachel ", Melissa Leo por "Frozen River" e Kate Winslet por "The Reader". Ao contrário do que indicariam os Globos de Ouro e o "buzz" em torno das suas actuações, Kate Winslet não recebeu uma dupla nomeação para os Óscares, falhando a distinção por "Revolutionary Road".
A categoria mais observada é a de Melhor Filme e na lista final da Academia figuram alguns dos filmes com mais nomeações: "O Estranho Caso de Benjamin Button", "Milk", "Quem Quer Ser Bilionário", "Frost/Nixon" e "The Reader".
Os nomeados para Melhor Realizador são o estreante Danny Boyle ("Quem Quer Ser Bilionário"), Stephen Daldry ("The Reader"), Ron Howard ("Frost/Nixon"), Gus Van Sant ("Milk") e David Fincher ("O Estranho Caso de Benjamin Button"), que recebe a sua primeira nomeação.
Na categoria de Melhor Actriz Secundária, Marisa Tomei volta a ser nomeada, desta feita pelo seu papel em "The Wrestler", Penélope Cruz é candidata pela interpretação em "Vicky Cristina Barcelona", de Woody Allen, e Taraji P. Henson ("O Estranho Caso de Benjamin Button"), Viola Davis ("Dúvida") e Amy Adams, também por "Dúvida", completam a lista. Quanto ao equivalente masculino, Melhor Actor Secundário, Josh Brolin ("Milk"), Robert Downey Jr. ("Tempestade Tropical"), Philip Seymour Hoffman ("Dúvida") e Michael Shannon ("Revolutionary Road"), uma inesperada nomeação, juntam-se a Heath Ledger.
Os nomeados para melhor filme estrangeiro são "A Valsa com Bashir" (Israel), "A Turma" (França), "O Complexo de Baader Meinhof" (Alemanha), "Departures" (Japão) e ""Revanche" (Áustria).
Na categoria de animação, os principais estúdios do sector opõem-se nas escolhas da Academia: "Bolt", da Walt Disney, "WALL.E", da Pixar, e "Kung Fu Panda", da Dreamworks de Steven Spielberg.
"WALL.E" destaca-se por ser um dos filmes mais nomeados (o quinto), em seis categorias, seguido de "Dúvida", "Frost/Nixon" e "The Reader", todos com cinco nomeações.
Quanto aos guiões do ano de 2008, na categoria de Melhor Argumento Original concorrem Mike Leigh com "Happy Go Lucky", Martin McDonagh por "Em Bruges", Dustin Lance Black por "Milk", Andrew Stanton e Jim Reardon por "WALL.E" e Courtney Hunt por "Frozen River".
Na lista de candidatos a Melhor Argumento Adaptado surgem os principais concorrentes da cerimónia de Fevereiro: "O Estranho Caso de Benjamin Button", de Eric Roth, "Dúvida", de John Patrick Shanley, "Frost/Nixon", de Peter Morgan, "The Reader", de David Hare e "Quem Quer Ser Bilionário", de Simon Beaufoy.
As nomeações para a cerimónia que é vista como o ponto alto da época de prémios da indústria foram hoje anunciadas pelo presidente da Academia, Sid Ganis, e pelo actor Forest Whitaker. O anúncio teve lugar em Beverly Hills, na Califórnia (às 17h30 locais), no Samuel Goldwyn Theater, que pertence agora à AACC.

Deusa com pés de barro?!

One of Oprah’s former lovers (and yes, it's a guy) reveals to the National Enquirer that she smoked some crack cocaine with him in the past.
Oprah herself has confessed in the past that she briefly used cocaine back in the 70s, though she blamed it on her "desperate obsession" with an ex who was a drug user. However, Randolph Cook says Winfrey was using drugs and smoking crack back in the 80s!
In his "sex-and-drugs tell-all" book, The Wizard of O: My Life With Oprah, douchebag Cook talks about his time with Winfrey during their secret affair, which started in 1984.
Randolph, who's 51, claims that Winfrey taught him how to smoke crack cocaine, adding that the two "freebased" the drug often throughout their six-month long relationship.
Cook also claims that Oprah "was still under the influence while doing her show."
Randolph, who wants to make money off O, is dying. Cook has been diagnosed with esophageal cancer and only has two years to live. He blames Oprah for his problems and says he wants his story told.
And according to an Enquirer investigation back in 2007, they say reporters found a "secret 17-page court document in store rooms at Chicago's National Archives and Records Administration that support Cook's shocking drug claims."
That document, which is titled "Defendant Oprah Winfrey's Answer to Plaintiff's Amended Complaint At Law," reveals the following:
Defendant admits that she and Cook had sexual relations.Defendant admits that Cook used cocaine in her presence and that she used cocaine while Cook was present.
As for Cook, he says "Americans have placed Oprah on a pedestal that has been seemingly invincible until now."

Antes de mais Mariana aplaudo o teu título! Até porque me faz lembrar a saudosa série Gossip Girl à qual já voltarei... Aqui ficam algumas coisas ainda não ditas no blog sobre os Golden Globes 2009

A Laura Linney está sempre impecável, sem falhas e ganhou algo se bem que não sei o quê.

Não sei o que é que a Blake/Serena foi fazer aos GG. Acho que ainda não tem esse estatuto, principalmente sozinha. Muito mais é falada a série, não ela, e além disso n gosto do vestido, n lhe assenta bem.

Três vestidos dos mais comentados da noite. O da Eva adooooooooooorrrrooo e é a cara dela. O da Heidi mete-me confusão. A Kate é verdade que vai sempre bem... mas parece a cor não lhe faz nada e não é va-va-voom como ela costuma ir.

Sim é verdade. Vou dizer bem da Beyonce. Ao fim de muito tempo sem ter nada para dizer de bom sobre ela (nem sobre a música!) digo que acho que este vestido, dentro do seu género e do género flashy Beyonce, lhe fica bem.

E finalmente o golden couple, que saiu de mãos vazias mas está sempre fotogénico

Sim é verdade. Apesar de as imagens não o fazerem prever, the buzz in the internet is: a Zooey e a Katy são gémeas! Verdade seja dita, há imagens em que elas estão muito parecidas, mas daí a gémeas...

Aproveito no entanto a ocasião para deixar por escrito que a Zoeey constitui a minha latest obsession (juntamente com a Alessandra claro que ainda não abandonei). Acho-a linda, muito interessante, adoro o álbum dela e adoro a maneira nonchalant dela representar. Faz-me lembrar os 50's não sei porquê, mas evoca a era golden de Hollywood o que só pode ser bom.

Quanto à Katy devo dizer que quando todo o fenómeno começou, eu, ainda que fascinada por US pop, não liguei muito no meu estilo snob/blasé... Agora que ouço constantemente os dois singles devo dizer que a adoro, como boa pop tart que sou. Mas gosto mesmo de a cantar aos altos berros no carro (sim, agora, infelizmente no carro) e gosto de a ver. Acho que é pleasing to the eye, gosto da maneira dela estar, das suas wacky fashion choices e da sua obsessão com frutas gigantes (há sempre um limão, cereja ou melão gigante em palco com ela) o que curiosamente também evoca os 50's... Será por aí?

Lanço então uma votação aqui no multitasking....muitas vezes comparadas por serem assumidamente duas bombas latinas, Rosario Dawson e Eva Mendes são sem dúvida duas morenas de referência em Hollywood! A nível de carreira é certo que Dawson conta com melhores escolhas, desde Kids até Tarantino passando por Rodriguez, o que lhe dá um toquezinho de cinema de autor que a coloca logo noutro patamar...Eva Mendes é normalmente a bomba sexual dos filmes onde entra, reduzida ao seu poderio físico e sensualidade , mas pouco aos dotes de representação...Nenhuma se pode apontar como mega actriz mas é certo que não passam mesmo despercebidas...eu confesso que curto mais a Dawson! A Eva Mendes tem não sei bem o quê que me irrita....mas quero ouvir as vossas opiniões...porque neste duelo latino ainda não estou certa de quem levará a melhor!

Lovers of fashion have been really looking forward to this release - Karl Lagerfeld's short film about Coco Chanel.

Why? Karl used the best Chanel documentary sources to shoot his own ten-minute tribute to Coco.

The film comes out this week in the Ranelagh theatre, along with the launch of the Chanel Paris-Moscow collection, an interesting pre-fall 2009 collection for more hardcore fashion lovers.

Karl used his favourite model Brad Koenig and his personal secretary Sebastien Jondeau, as well as models Edita Vikeviciute and Tallulah Ormsby-Gore.

The film (mute) tells a story from 1913, when the legendary designer opened his first fashion store. The film tells the story of the intense relationship between Coco and Duke Dimitri Pavlovich - the film is full of references to Russian folklore. Word has it that the Duke's army jacket inspired Chanel's women's jackets.We'll see the film soon on youtube.. Oh, and all the Chanel designers participated in the film as extras.
